How to Be Independent

So you want to be an independent person? It is so easy to follow the mainstream and just be another clone of consumer society. It takes a true leader to have the courage to go off and create something. It takes a lot more drive to be an independent person instead of living at home with your parents. 1. Shop Differently

Whenever you plan on shopping for clothes do not go to all of their popular mainstream department stores like American Eagle or Abercrombie & Fitch. There are other places you can check out that still has good quality clothing. If you do want to buy something from there, make sure you like it and not want it because you saw it on television.

2. Rely On Yourself

Stop relying on other people to make you happy or feel any emotional support. Of course you can still have friends and talk to your family but do not depend on them to make you feel a certain way. You decide how happy or sad you are on any given day.

3. Stay Motivated

You should always try to motivate yourself to get something done. Whether it is getting a job, talking to a potential date or going bungee jumping. 4. Financial Independence

You need to gain financial independence in your life. It is so easy to depend on your parents or close friends for income but that will never make you independent. You should be able to pay for all of your house bills, phone bills, car insurance, gas and any other expenses. Learn how to budget your money so you never have to worry about taking out loans or anything like that.

5. Plan

You should plan your activities to accommodate you. Don't try to please all of your friends and family because you will just being a crowd-pleaser and never be satisfied with your life. 6. Respect Yourself

You won't be able to become a strong and self-sufficient you if you aren't comfortable living with who you are. Respect your physique, your character, your beliefs, your choices, your tastes, and your life story. Do not say things in opposition to you. Anyone can be strong enough to do what they set out to accomplish. Everyone has endured something to prove their strength. Learn from your mistakes and move on. Make the endeavor to be a better you and love who you are.

7. Be Your Own Hero

A few role models can help motivate you and reveal how you can live your life. It's never really a bad thing to discover someone who you really show appreciation for and who shares your core values. However. it's crucial to think of yourself as your own role model, as someone who is enabled to do and say anything they want. Strive to be your own person, and be the best you that you can be. If you don't look up to yourself, you won't become independent.
